Optical extrusion profiles for LED lighting
Ten product families for linear, architectural, commercial and industrial luminaires. Every profile can be produced from your drawing, or adapted from an existing tooling set.
Custom LED Diffuser Manufacturing
From drawing to packed profile — one factory, no middlemen
This is the route most OEM and ODM enquiries take. You can enter at any step.
Drawing
Send a 2D drawing, a 3D file or simply a sketch with the dimensions you need.
Material Selection
PC or PMMA, single or two-colour, chosen for impact, clarity, UV stability and optics.
Tooling
Our in-house die and mould centre designs and manufactures the extrusion die.
Extrusion
Production runs on one of our 20+ single-colour or two-colour lines.
Cutting
Cut to length, mitring, notching, drilling and CNC machining where required.
Inspection
Dimensional, appearance and optical checks against the approved sample.
Packaging
Protective film, sleeving, cartons and pallets labelled to your requirement.

Material Comparison
PC vs PMMA LED diffuser
Both materials are extruded in-house. The right choice depends on what your luminaire has to survive and how it has to look.
| Aspect | PC — polycarbonate | PMMA — acrylic |
|---|---|---|
| Optical characteristics | Very good diffusion; slightly lower clarity as standard | High clarity and a bright, clean white appearance |
| Impact resistance | Chosen where the profile can be hit or dropped | Adequate for protected indoor luminaires |
| Surface finish | Holds embossed and prismatic detail well | Excellent gloss retention and scratch appearance |
| Appearance | Slightly warmer tone | Neutral, stays white over time |
| Typical applications | Industrial and vapour-tight fixtures, public areas | Architectural, office, retail and decorative lighting |
| Customisation | Colour, transmittance, finish, profile — all to drawing | Colour, transmittance, finish, profile — all to drawing |
Exact figures depend on profile geometry, wall thickness and the grade selected. Tell us the operating environment and we will specify the grade, or read the PC vs PMMA LED diffuser comparison.
Applications
Where our profiles are used
Linear, architectural, commercial, industrial and specialist lighting.
Optical Solutions
Seven ways to control the light
Diffusion, transmission and beam control are set by material grade, surface structure and profile geometry.
Diffusion
Even it out. Removes hot spots and hides individual LED dies.
Frosted
A soft, uniform first-surface finish for general lighting.
Clear
Maximum transmission where the optic needs to stay invisible.
Prismatic
Structured prisms bend and spread the beam — standard in troffer panels.
Embossed
Textured surface for decorative effect and additional diffusion.
Optical lens
A shaped surface that delivers a defined beam angle, from 35° to 105°.
Custom profile
Geometry designed around your PCB, LED pitch and housing.
Manufacturing Capability
Optical plastic extrusion, in-house
We are an extrusion house, not a re-seller. Dies, lines and inspection all sit in one facility.
PC extrusion
Polycarbonate grades for impact-critical profiles.
PMMA extrusion
Acrylic grades for clarity and colour stability.
Single-colour extrusion
One material, one colour, from clear to fully opaque.
Two-colour extrusion
Co-extruded profiles combining clear and diffusing sections.
Custom profile extrusion
Profiles drawn from your fixture geometry.
Tooling development
In-house die design and manufacture.
Prototype
Short runs to prove the optic before you commit.
Mass production
Repeat runs with retained samples for traceability.
Please ask us for current capacity figures — they depend on profile complexity and season. See the extrusion capability page.
Quality Control
Measured, recorded, retrievable
- ISO 9001:2015 certified quality management system.
- Closed-loop control from raw material intake through to final inspection.
- An in-house MES records key process parameters every two hours.
- Production samples are retained every two hours for traceability.
- Materials are UV-resistant and formulated against yellowing.
Factory
One site in Zhejiang, China
Zhejiang Baoming Optical Materials Co., Ltd. moved to Deqing on the Grand Canal at the end of 2020. The plant holds its own die and mould centre alongside more than twenty PC / PMMA single-colour and two-colour extrusion lines, so profile development and production stay under the same roof.
FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
The questions buyers ask us most often before sending the first drawing.
Are you a manufacturer or a trading company?
We are a manufacturer. Zhejiang Baoming Optical Materials Co., Ltd. operates its own PC / PMMA extrusion lines and an in-house die and mould centre in Deqing, Zhejiang. There is no trading company between you and the extrusion line.
What is your minimum order quantity?
For standard tooling, enquiries typically start from 500 pieces. New custom tooling is quoted separately. If you are at prototype stage, tell us — we run short sample lengths so you can test the optic before committing.
Can you produce a diffuser from my drawing?
Yes. Drawing-based and sample-based production are both standard routes. Send a DXF, DWG, STEP or even a dimensioned sketch and we will review manufacturability and quote tooling and unit price.
What transmittance can you achieve?
Colour and transmission are formulated to requirement, with transmittance available across a wide range from fully opaque through to approximately 97% depending on the grade and the profile. Tell us the target and we will match it.
Do you supply PC and PMMA?
Both. We extrude polycarbonate where impact resistance matters and PMMA / acrylic where clarity and long-term colour stability come first. Two-colour co-extrusion combines them in one profile.
How fast can I get an answer to my enquiry?
Enquiries received during the Chinese working week are normally answered within one business day, including a first judgement on existing tooling versus new tooling.
