Product Overview

Linear LED Lenses Overview

A linear lens does more than diffuse: it refracts the light into a defined beam. We extrude linear lenses in PC and PMMA with beam angles from 35° to 105°, covering narrow aisle and accent distributions through to wide area coverage. The lens surface is produced by the extrusion die, so a beam angle stays consistent from the first metre to the last of a production run.

Manufacturing Process

From drawing to packed profile

1

Drawing

2D drawing, 3D file, sketch or an existing sample.

2

Material

PC or PMMA, single-colour or two-colour, selected for optics, impact and UV stability.

3

Tooling

In-house die design and die manufacturing.

4

Extrusion

Trial run and parameter setting on a matched extrusion line.

5

Cutting

Cut to length, mitring, notching, drilling and CNC machining.

6

Inspection

Dimensional, appearance and optical checks against the approved sample.

7

Packaging

Protective film, sleeving, cartons and pallets to your requirement.

Quality Control

How the profile is checked

Every profile is produced against an approved sample or drawing. We check incoming resin, approve the first piece, measure the profile during the run, and carry out a final appearance and dimensional inspection before packing. Optical grades are verified for transmission and diffusion consistency.
  • Incoming resin inspection and batch traceability
  • First-piece approval against the approved sample or drawing
  • In-process dimensional checks on profile width, height and wall thickness
  • Light transmission and haze measurement on optical grades
  • Appearance inspection under standard lighting conditions
  • Final random inspection before packing and palletising

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Standard angles run from 35° to 105°. A different angle can be developed by designing a new die for your photometric requirement.
Both. PMMA gives higher clarity and better UV stability; PC is chosen where impact resistance or temperature matters.
Yes. Co-extrusion or a secondary surface treatment can combine a defined beam with a diffusing appearance.
