Extruded linear LED diffuser profile for line lighting

Product Overview

LED Diffusers Overview

An LED diffuser is the optical element that turns a row of point sources into an even line or surface of light. We extrude diffusers in polycarbonate and PMMA for fixture makers who need repeatable optics, clean edges and a profile that snaps into their housing without rework. Whether you buy a standard profile or start from a drawing, the optical behaviour — transmission, diffusion and colour shift — is defined before tooling starts, and it is held to the approved sample in production.

Profile & Optics

Profile design, optical characteristics and surface finish

Profile design

Snap-in, clip-on, lay-in and suspended cross-sections, plus asymmetric profiles for wall-wash and cove applications.

Optical characteristics

Transmission and diffusion set by material grade, wall thickness and surface structure. Ranging from near-clear to fully opaque.

Surface finish

Gloss, frosted, embossed or prismatic. Co-extruded surfaces combine a diffusing layer with a clear or coloured base.

Customization

What we can change for your project

Profile

New cross-sections developed from your drawing or from an existing sample.

Dimensions

Width, height, wall thickness and length set to your fixture geometry.

Surface

Gloss, frosted, embossed, prismatic or co-extruded surfaces.

Colour

Clear, opal, custom colours and two-colour combinations.

Applications

Typical applications

Linear lighting

Continuous runs in offices, retail and industrial spaces.

Architectural lighting

Cove, wall-wash and feature profiles.

Commercial lighting

Downlights, panels and suspended fixtures.

Troffer lighting

Recessed luminaires needing even, low-glare output.

Industrial lighting

High-bay and warehouse fixtures.

LED strip lighting

Covers and housings for flexible and rigid strips.

Cabinet lighting

Under-cabinet and shelf profiles.

Signage lighting

Edge-lit and back-lit signage.

Manufacturing Process

From drawing to packed profile

1

Drawing

2D drawing, 3D file, sketch or an existing sample.

2

Material

PC or PMMA, single-colour or two-colour, selected for optics, impact and UV stability.

3

Tooling

In-house die design and die manufacturing.

4

Extrusion

Trial run and parameter setting on a matched extrusion line.

5

Cutting

Cut to length, mitring, notching, drilling and CNC machining.

6

Inspection

Dimensional, appearance and optical checks against the approved sample.

7

Packaging

Protective film, sleeving, cartons and pallets to your requirement.

Quality Control

How the profile is checked

Every profile is produced against an approved sample or drawing. We check incoming resin, approve the first piece, measure the profile during the run, and carry out a final appearance and dimensional inspection before packing. Optical grades are verified for transmission and diffusion consistency.
  • Incoming resin inspection and batch traceability
  • First-piece approval against the approved sample or drawing
  • In-process dimensional checks on profile width, height and wall thickness
  • Light transmission and haze measurement on optical grades
  • Appearance inspection under standard lighting conditions
  • Final random inspection before packing and palletising

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

MOQ depends on the profile and the material. Send the drawing and the target quantity and we will quote the tooling and the first production run together.
Yes. Send a sample or a drawing with dimensions. We confirm material, transmission and appearance against your sample before quoting.
Yes. Two-colour co-extrusion is used for opaque reflectors combined with a diffusing face, and for coloured edges on a clear or opal body.
A 2D cross-section or a 3D file is ideal. A dimensioned sketch or a physical sample is enough to start.
